WHAT'S IN A NAME - JORDAN

My name 'Petra' opened many doors

Petra, in Arab, is pronounced 'Betra'. Not exactly flattering if you think of how close it sounds to 'betrave', the French word for beet root.

But my name opened many doors. We received a free visa for Jordan, were invited to stay several nights in the very best hotels, had a free entry in the city of Petra and received plenty of supplies for the road . I was spoilt rotten and so was Paul. I'm telling you, Petra is a great name !
